Apple TV+ has confirmed that For All Mankind will conclude with its sixth season. The announcement comes ahead of the show’s March 27 Season 5 premiere.
Word of the space drama’s sixth season pick-up was first reported by us in February, now the streamer has officially set the end point for the long-running drama.
Created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, the series imagines an alternate history in which the global space race never ended. Spanning multiple decades, it follows astronauts, engineers and their families as humanity expands its reach beyond Earth.
“Getting to explore the ‘For All Mankind’ universe over six seasons has been an amazing privilege, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to finish the story the way we’ve always hoped,” said Wolpert and Nedivi. “We’re incredibly proud of what this series has become, and grateful to Apple TV and Sony Pictures Television for helping us see it through to its final chapter.”

The upcoming fifth season picks up in the 2010s, with Mars colony Happy Valley now home to thousands as tensions grow between Earth’s governments and those living on the Red Planet. Returning cast members include Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt, alongside new additions including Mireille Enos and Costa Ronin.
For All Mankind spinoff Star City will hope to extend the mothership’s legacy when it launches on May 29, 2026.
Season 6 of For All Mankind is slated to premiere in 2027 on Apple TV+.
