Paramount+ has renewed Criminal Minds: Evolution for a milestone 20th season. The pickup comes ahead of the show’s Season 19 premiere, marking the fifth season since the series was revived under the Evolution banner following the original Criminal Minds run from 2005 to 2020.

Season 19 will see the return of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, with Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford and RJ Hatanaka leading the cast, alongside Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. The series continues to follow the team of profilers as they analyze and track some of the country’s most dangerous criminals before they can strike.

Unlike the original procedural format, Evolution follows a single case across an entire season, shifting the storytelling toward a more serialized structure.

Season 19 will also feature a range of guest stars including Justin Kirk, Yvette Nicole Brown, Clark Gregg and Jeri Ryan among others.

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 19 premieres May 28, 2026 on Paramount+, with Season 20 set for spring 2027.
