HBO has confirmed that Hacks will indeed conclude with its previously announced fifth season. The announcement comes weeks ahead of the Season 5 premiere.

Season 5 picks up after false reports of Deborah Vance’s death, as Deborah (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) head back to Las Vegas determined to solidify Deborah’s legacy as a comedian. The new season continues to explore the evolving partnership between the two as they navigate career ambitions and personal tensions.

Returning cast members include Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato and Rose Abdoo.

The fifth and final season of Hacks premieres Thursday, April 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max.
