The crime drama will not move forward into Season 5.
BMF has been cancelled by Starz after four seasons, marking the end of the network’s hit crime drama inspired by true events. The decision comes less than three months after the series wrapped its most recent season. While the final episode resolved some storylines, it was not written as a definitive series finale.
Based on the real-life story of the Black Mafia Family, the series followed brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who rose from Detroit’s streets in the late 1980s to build one of America’s most powerful crime organizations. Their partnership extended beyond drug trafficking into legitimate business and the emerging world of hip-hop.
Produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, BMF became a cornerstone of Starz’s drama lineup. Jackson has previously hinted at several spinoff projects set in the same universe, and sources indicate those titles are still in active development at the network.
The cast included Demetrius Flenory Jr., Da’Vinchi, Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Steve Harris, La La Anthony, Sydney Mitchell, Laila D. Pruitt, Myles Truitt, and Eric Kofi-Abrefa.
The fourth season of BMF, now serves as its final chapter without Season 5.
