CBS has cancelled DMV after one season. The decision comes with six episodes remaining in the comedy’s freshman run, with the series finale now set to air in May.

The show debuted last fall with modest ratings, but viewership declined over the course of the season, leaving it among the network’s lower-rated scripted originals.

We’ve updated the CBS cancel/renewed scorecard to reflect this news.

Based on a short story by Katherine Heiny, the half-hour workplace comedy is set inside a busy DMV office, where a group of employees navigate bureaucratic challenges, difficult customers and malfunctioning equipment while trying to get through the workday.

DMV will conclude its run with the series finale on May 11 on CBS.
