Welcome to Wrexham Renewed for Season 5 at FX

The club’s historic rise continues with cameras still rolling.

FX has ordered a fifth season of Welcome to Wrexham, the Emmy-winning docuseries following the rise of Wrexham AFC. The upcoming season will chronicle the club’s 2025–26 debut in the EFL Championship, following a historic third consecutive promotion. The renewal comes as Season 4 continues its run, with new episodes airing Thursdays on FX and streaming next day on Hulu.

The series, led by co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, has become a breakout hit for FX, blending football drama with off-pitch human stories.

FX also announced a new docuseries titled Necaxa, arriving this summer. The series follows Mexico’s Club Necaxa during a period of major change, with Eva Longoria joining McElhenney and Reynolds as executive producers—and fellow investors in the Liga MX team. Necaxa is a co-production with Disney+ Latin America.

“Rob and Ryan helped Wrexham AFC become one of the greatest sports stories of our time,” said FX Entertainment President Nick Grad. “Now, with Eva Longoria, they’re teaming to support the dreams and aspirations of Necaxa fans and the Aguascalientes community too.”

Season 5 of Welcome to Wrexham will premiere in 2026.
