Prime Video has renewed Overcompensating for a second season, arriving four months after the comedy’s 8-episode freshman run drew warm notices.

Benito Skinner, creator, writer, star and executive producer, said:

“I have been so overwhelmed by the insane response to the show, and feel so damn lucky to go back to Yates University with Amazon MGM Studios, A24, Strong Baby and this legendary cast for Season 2!”

Inspired by Skinner’s stand-up, the series follows Benny, a closeted former football star turned campus late bloomer, and Carmen, an outsider determined to fit in at any cost. With an assist from Benny’s older sister and her campus-legend boyfriend, the duo navigates hookups, flavored vodka and fake IDs as they overcompensate their way toward who they really are.

Expect Overcompensating Season 2 to release in mid-to-late 2026.
