Expedition Unknown Season 16 Return Set On Discovery Channel

 Josh Gates returns for a deep dive into Egypt’s Great Pyramid. 

World explorer and television host Josh Gates returns for Season 16 of Expedition Unknown, premiering this November. The Emmy-nominated series begins its new season with an ambitious two-part special filmed inside Egypt’s Great Pyramid – one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

With exclusive access and cutting-edge 3D scanning technology, Gates investigates centuries-old theories about how the monument was built. His daring experiment aims to replicate the construction techniques used by ancient engineers, revealing a network of hidden tunnels and chambers beneath the iconic structure.

The season continues with a series of globe-spanning adventures. Gates teams up with Gold Rush star Parker Schnabel to hunt for a lost stagecoach treasure, searches the Oregon coast on a real-life Goonies-inspired quest, dives into the Baltic Sea in pursuit of a missing Nazi submarine, and navigates crocodile-filled rivers in Nicaragua to locate Cornelius Vanderbilt’s lost steamship.

Season 16 of Expedition Unknown premieres November 5, 2025, on Discovery Channel.
