Prime Video goes all in on the Legally Blonde prequel series.
Prime Video has renewed Elle, the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, for a second season ahead of its summer 2026 debut. The early pickup comes before the show’s first season has premiered on the streaming service.
Set years before the events of the original film, Season 1 follows Elle Woods during her high school years, exploring the experiences that shaped her future path.
Reese Witherspoon, who executive produces the series, said:
“Twenty-five years after the world met Elle Woods for the first time, it’s a dream come true to share the story of how she became the unstoppable force we all fell in love with.”
She added that production on Season 2 is expected to begin following the first season’s release.
The cast includes Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods, with June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott portraying her parents. Additional cast members include Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney and Zac Looker, with several recurring roles announced.
Elle Season 1 premieres July 1, 2026 on Prime Video, with Season 2 slated for a 2027 release.
