Netflix has cancelled The Abandons, ending the Western drama after a single season. The decision comes less than two months after the series released its seven-episode first run.

The series debuted in December and spent two weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 rankings. Despite this, no second season order arrived.

Set in Washington Territory in 1854, The Abandons centered on the matriarchs of two families: one affluent and established, the other a found family of orphans and outcasts; whose lives become connected through two crimes, a hidden secret, a romantic relationship, and land containing silver.

The Abandons Season 2 is not being shopped to other platforms, making it a one-and-done.
