Alaska State Troopers Season 9: A&E Revives Docuseries

 A&E has resurrected the docuseries for 2026. 

A&E is bringing back Alaska State Troopers for a ninth season, marking the return of the long-running docuseries a decade after its original run concluded.

Originally airing from 2009-2015, the series offers an inside look at the small but highly trained force responsible for policing the largest and most remote state in the country. With only 400 troopers covering hundreds of miles in Fairbanks and the Mat-Su Valley, and serving more than 230 isolated villages reachable only by boat or plane, the series follows officers as they respond to an unpredictable stream of calls across unforgiving terrain.

Each one-hour episode chronicles patrols by land, sea, and air, capturing everything from multi-agency criminal operations to urgent search-and-rescue missions. With vast distances, extreme weather, and backup often hours away, Alaska State Troopers highlights the unique challenges and high-stakes work faced daily by Alaska’s frontline law enforcement.

Season 9 of Alaska State Troopers premieres January 7 at 8pm ET/PT on A&E.
