Netflix has renewed Virgin River for an eighth season, extending the run of its most enduring English-language scripted original. The announcement arrives ahead of the debut of Season 7, which recently wrapped production and is expected to premiere in late 2025/early 2026.

First launched in 2019, Virgin River has consistently remained one of Netflix’s top-performing shows. All six released seasons have charted in the Netflix Global Top 10, with Season 6 debuting at #1. The series now holds the distinction of being the platform’s longest-running original English drama.

Based on the bestselling novels by Robyn Carr, Virgin River follows Mel Monroe, a nurse practitioner who leaves Los Angeles for a quiet life in northern California. What she finds is a close-knit community—and unexpected romance—that changes everything.
