The Residence Season 2 Cancelled By Netflix

No Season 2 for the whodunnit anthology series.

Netflix has cancelled The Residence after just one season.

The decision arrives three months after the murder mystery drama premiered on the platform. Billed as a whodunnit anthology from Shondaland, the show was intended to follow a new murder investigation each season, but it will not be moving forward into Season 2.

Inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book of the same name, The Residence starred Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, a fiercely perceptive consulting detective with the Metropolitan Police Department. The first season revolved around a State Dinner at the White House that descends into chaos, prompting Cupp to team up with FBI Special Agent Edwin Park. Despite their contrasting styles, the pair worked to uncover the truth behind the unfolding mystery.

While the show featured strong performances and high production value, it failed to generate enough momentum to secure a renewal.
