NCIS: Origins Renewed For Season 3 On CBS

CBS extends the prequel series into the 2026-27 season.

CBS has renewed NCIS: Origins for a third season, extending the prequel drama beyond its current sophomore run. The pickup was announced midway through Season 2.

A prequel spinoff of NCIS, the series is set in 1991 and follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs at the start of his career as a newly appointed special agent at the early NCIS Camp Pendleton office. The show tracks Gibbs as he finds his footing within a rough-edged team led by veteran agent Mike Franks.

The NCIS: Origins pick-up is one of 16 CBS shows currently renewed for the 2026-27 season, including NCIS and NCIS: Sydney.

Season 2 is currently airing, with new episodes resuming March 3.

NCIS: Origins Season 3 is set to premiere during the 2026-27 broadcast season on CBS.
