And Just Like That… Season 4 Cancelled On HBO Max

The Sex and the City sequel will wrap its run with Season 3 on HBO Max.

HBO Max has canceled And Just Like That….

The Sex and the City sequel series will conclude with its current third season. The final episode – airing August 14, 2025 – will now serve as the series finale. Two episodes remain.

Initially launched as a limited series, And Just Like That… extended beyond its original scope due to strong audience reception. The show revisits Sex and the City characters Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate friendship, love, and life in their 50s.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King commented on why And Just Like That… Season 4 is not happening:

“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex And The City universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

Season 3’s final episodes will close out the modern chapter of the franchise that began with Sex and the City in 1998.
