Invincible Renewed For Season 6 By Prime Video
Invincible has been renewed for a sixth season at Prime Video.
The announcement was made by creator Robert Kirkman during this year’s Annecy International Animation Festival, giving fans another vote of confidence in the long-term future of the series. The early pickup comes despite Season 5 still being a long way off, with its return not expected until sometime in 2027.
The renewal signals Prime Video’s continued commitment to adapting Kirkman’s sprawling comic book saga, which still has plenty of source material left to explore. Kirkman also confirmed that longtime supervising directors Shaun O’Neill and Dan Duncan will take on expanded roles as executive producers moving forward.
Premiering in 2021, Invincible quickly established itself as one of television’s standout adult animated series, earning praise for its blend of emotional storytelling, shocking twists, and brutally intense action sequences. Each season has pushed Mark Grayson further away from the ordinary teenage life he once knew and deeper into the responsibilities and dangers that come with being the son of Omni-Man.
Based on the comic series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, the story follows Mark as he comes into his own as a superhero while grappling with revelations about his father’s true nature. As threats to Earth continue to escalate, Mark must learn just how far he is willing to go to protect the people closest to him.
With Seasons 5 and 6 now in the pipeline, it’s clear that Prime Video intends to keep adapting the beloved comic for years to come – and, if Kirkman’s comments are any indication, there may be even more adventures beyond that still to come.
