Euphoria Cancelled
Euphoria has been cancelled after three seasons. Following the Season 3 finale on May 31, series creator Sam Levinson confirmed in an interview with The New York Times that the HBO drama has reached its conclusion.
“In terms of the story that we set out to tell, which is a story about addiction and its consequences, this feels like the end to me,” Levinson said.
The confirmation comes after years of speculation that Season 3 would serve as the show’s final chapter. While the possibility had been widely expected, HBO had never formally announced an ending prior to the finale’s airing.
Premiering in 2019, Euphoria became one of HBO’s most talked-about dramas, though its run was marked by lengthy gaps between seasons. Fans waited more than two years for Season 2, followed by a delay of over four years before the arrival of Season 3.
Based on the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria follows a group of teenagers navigating friendship, love, identity, social media, sex, and substance abuse. The series stars Zendaya as Rue Bennett, a recovering drug addict struggling to rebuild her life after returning home from rehab.
