The Wheel of Time Cancelled On Prime Video

The Wheel of Time comes to a halt at Prime Video.

Prime Video has canceled The Wheel of Time after three seasons. The news arrives just weeks after the show wrapped its third and now-final eight-episode run.

Premiering in 2021, the series was initially met with strong viewership and solid critical reception, becoming one of Prime Video’s top-performing debuts at the time. However, while the show maintained a loyal fanbase and improved creatively with each season, recent viewership numbers reportedly fell short of the platform’s benchmarks to justify the high production costs of a fourth season.

Based on Robert Jordan’s acclaimed fantasy book series, The Wheel of Time follows Moiraine, a powerful member of the Aes Sedai, as she guides a group of young villagers across a mystical world in search of the Dragon Reborn—a figure prophesied to either save or destroy humanity. The cast was led by Rosamund Pike, alongside Josha Stradowski, Madeleine Madden, Daniel Henney, and Marcus Rutherford.

The third — and now final — season concluded in April 2025 and was widely praised for its more focused storytelling and character development. Despite ongoing fan campaigns urging Amazon to reconsider, there are currently no announced plans to continue the series in another format.
