HBO has renewed Real Time with Bill Maher for two more seasons, extending the series through 2028. The renewal includes Seasons 25 and 26.

Bill Maher will continue as host. The weekly format remains unchanged, including a monologue, individual interviews, panel discussions, and the recurring segment “New Rules.”

Maher’s first HBO special aired in 1989. He has since led 13 solo specials for the network. His most recent special, Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?, received a Golden Globe nomination.

Real Time with Bill Maher Season 24 premieres January 23, 2026.
