FOX is doubling down on its holiday baking ambitions, renewing Next Level Baker for both a second and third season. The pickup comes after the event-style competition series aired its four-episode debut run across three weeks last December.

The early multi-season renewal signals strong confidence in the franchise’s future, particularly as networks continue investing in seasonal unscripted programming that can reliably attract family audiences during the holidays. Renewing the series for two additional installments suggests the freshman run performed well enough to justify expanding the concept into a recurring annual event.

A spinoff of Gordon Ramsay’s broader Next Level competition brand, Next Level Baker adapts the franchise’s signature multi-level kitchen format into a festive baking showcase. The series features home bakers, professionals, and social media creators competing to craft elaborate holiday-themed desserts and baked creations across visually extravagant winter-themed sets.

The show leans heavily into seasonal spectacle, transforming the franchise’s iconic layered kitchen environment into a holiday wonderland filled with snow effects, decorative lighting, and Christmas-inspired staging. That visual identity helps separate it from more traditional baking competitions while positioning it squarely within the increasingly popular holiday-event television space.

Joining Ramsay are Carla Hall and Waylynn Lucas, who serve as mentors and judges throughout the competition. Their involvement gives the series a balance between culinary expertise and entertainment-focused warmth, helping the show maintain an accessible tone despite the high-pressure format.

Contestants compete for the title of Next Level Baker along with a $25,000 grand prize and a HexClad prize package. Like the original Next Level Chef, the series emphasizes mentorship alongside competition, with judges guiding selected bakers through increasingly ambitious culinary challenges.

From an industry standpoint, the renewal reflects the continuing dominance of food competition programming on broadcast television. Baking competitions in particular have become especially valuable because they combine low production risk with broad demographic appeal. Holiday-themed editions add another layer of repeatability, allowing networks to establish annual viewing traditions around recognizable formats.

The decision to greenlight two additional seasons at once is also notable. Multi-season renewals remain relatively uncommon for freshman unscripted series unless networks see clear franchise potential. FOX appears to view Next Level Baker not as a one-off seasonal experiment, but as a recurring holiday brand capable of complementing its broader Ramsay-led programming slate.

That strategy mirrors a wider television trend in which networks increasingly build mini-franchises around proven personalities and concepts. Ramsay, in particular, has become one of FOX’s most reliable unscripted stars, with series like Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, and Next Level Chefconsistently anchoring the network’s reality lineup.

For viewers, the renewals mean more large-scale holiday baking competitions are on the horizon, with the series expected to continue blending festive atmosphere, culinary creativity, and high-stakes eliminations. Future seasons may also expand the format further as the franchise establishes its own traditions separate from the main Next Level series.

Next Level Baker Season 2 is expected to premiere December 2026 on FOX.
