The end is coming for Daredevil: Born Again. The Charlie Cox-led series has been cancelled and will conclude with its upcoming third season.
The third season wasn’t originally billed as the show’s last when it was announced last year, which makes this closer to a cancellation than a planned ending. Still, the writers have had advance notice and time to build toward a proper conclusion.
The series has followed Matt Murdock’s dual life as a lawyer and vigilante against the backdrop of Wilson Fisk’s rise to power in New York City. Season 1 tracked Fisk’s transformation from crime boss to the city’s mayor, while Murdock became romantically involved with therapist Heather Glenn, who later became an ally within the Fisk administration. That season also saw Frank Castle break out of Fisk’s Red Hook prison in its final moments. Season 2 brought Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones into the fold, expanding the show’s ties to the broader Marvel Netflix-era universe.
The series opened strong, with Season 1 posting the best series premiere on Disney+ for 2025, drawing 7.5 million viewers worldwide in its first five days.
That momentum didn’t fully carry into Season 2, however, with U.S. viewership dropping roughly 50% according to Luminate data, a decline that likely factored into the decision to close out the story with a third and final season rather than continue into a potential Season 4.
Daredevil: Born Again will not be shopped to other platforms or networks, with Season 3 bringing the series to a close.
The third and final season Daredevil: Born Again is slated to release in 2027 on Disney+.
