FOX has renewed Best Medicine for Season 2. The 12-episode pickup comes during the show’s freshman run, following a strong multiplatform launch.

The series premiere delivered 12.6 million total multiplatform viewers and ranks among broadcast television’s two highest-rated drama debuts this season among Adults 18-49, alongside fellow Fox newcomer Memory of a Killer.

Best Medicine currently stands as FOX’s second-largest seven-day total multiplatform audience of the season to date, averaging 6.0 million viewers (P2+) across its first five episodes. Per FOX, each of those initial telecasts surpassed one million viewers in seven-day streaming, and the series is the only scripted show this season to grow from its debut to its second episode in total viewers.

FOX issued the following renewal statement:

“Best Medicine quickly became a breakout for us this season, blending sharp humor with real heart. Liz Tuccillo brings a distinctive creative voice to the series, and Josh Charles leads an exceptional cast that audiences have embraced. We, along with Propogate, are excited to build on that momentum in Season Two.”

The drama stars Josh Charles, Abigail Spencer, Josh Segarra, Annie Potts and Cree.

The renewal comes on the heels of FOX renewing Animal Control for a fifth season.

Best Medicine Season 2 will premiere as part of FOX’s upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast cycle.
