FX has renewed American Horror Story for a 14th installment, with the pickup arriving while the 13th is still airing.

The anthology series will continue on FX and Hulu, and the Season 13 finale is set for next week.

The renewal follows a record-setting launch for the current installment. AHS: 13 landed on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 and became the biggest streaming premiere in the franchise’s history, as well as Ryan Murphy’s biggest launch ever on Hulu and Disney+. Episodes 11 and 12 air Thursday, with the finale following on Thursday, October 29, just ahead of Halloween. New episodes air at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX and stream at 9 p.m. PT on Hulu.

The series, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, premiered in 2011 and is the longest-running hour-long series in FX’s history. Each installment tells a self-contained story, a format that made it an early influence on the modern “limited series” model. Past seasons have centered on a murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself.

The franchise has built up a significant awards record over that time, with more than 100 Emmy nominations and 17 wins, including acting trophies for Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and James Cromwell. It has also generated nearly 2 billion hours of engagement globally. All previous installments are available on Hulu, and on Disney+ internationally, with Hulu on Disney+ providing access for bundle subscribers in the U.S.

Season 13 stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari and Jessica Lange. The wider cast includes Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa and John Waters.

American Horror Story Season 14 is slated to premiere in late 2027 on FX and Hulu.
