Paramount+ has renewed Canada Shore for a second season, with the pickup arriving just three weeks after the show’s 10-episode freshman run concluded on March 19. Casting is now underway for the next installment, signalling a quick turnaround following the series’ successful debut.
The early renewal reflects the show’s strong performance, particularly within the Canadian market, where it helped drive subscriber growth and generated significant social media engagement. For streaming platforms, this combination of audience demand and online visibility has become an increasingly important factor when deciding which reality series to continue.
Reality formats like Canada Shore are also well-suited to fast renewals, as they typically benefit from lower production timelines and strong audience retention. As part of the globally recognised “Shore” franchise – popularised by Jersey Shore – the series already had a built-in audience, giving Paramount+ a solid foundation to expand the brand into new regions.
“Renewing Canada Shore was an easy choice,” said Katrina Kowalski, SVP Content at Paramount Canada. “The series has quickly become a fan favourite, connecting with audiences through its unmistakable, outrageous cast who may not depict stereotypical polite Canadian-ness, but have hearts much bigger than the chaos they bring.”
Showrunner Erin Brock added that the response from fans has been strong, highlighting the cast’s dynamic personalities and the ongoing drama that continues beyond the cameras. “The response from Shore fans to this authentic, funny, over-the-top, messy cast has been awesome. And the messiness didn’t end just because the cameras stopped rolling. The housemates have a lot to unpack this summer and I can guarantee sparks are going to fly from Day One.”
The series follows a group of Canadian singles living together for the summer, navigating friendships, relationships, and the challenges that come with a high-energy shared environment. Its blend of reality drama and established franchise appeal has helped it stand out within the streaming platform’s unscripted lineup.
