Somebody Feed Phil has been renewed for a ninth season, but the long-running food and travel series will not return to Netflix. Instead, the show will move to YouTube following a broader agreement between creator Phil Rosenthal, his production company Lucky Bastards, and Banijay Americas and Banijay Rights.

The change comes after eight seasons on Netflix. The show aired its most recent season last summer and currently stands as the platform’s longest-running documentary series. All eight existing seasons will remain available on Netflix.

Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas, said:

“Phil Rosenthal is one of the rare creators who consistently stays ahead of where the industry is going. Partnering with a filmmaker and storyteller of his caliber is incredibly exciting for us. Alongside Banijay Americas and Banijay Rights, we are proud to support Phil as he ushers his brand into its next era. YouTube represents a natural evolution and a place where audiences can engage with his voice and humor as we build a global digital home for Phil Rosenthal World.”

Phil Rosenthal added:

“One of the things I always loved about Everybody Loves Raymond was that it was free to watch everywhere. We are thrilled to announce that Somebody Feed Phil will move to YouTube, where our message of family, friendship, food, travel, and laughs can reach the most people.”

The series follows Rosenthal as he travels around the world sampling local cuisines and exploring different cultures alongside family members, friends and guest hosts. Recent stops have included Australia, Boston, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Manila and Guatemala.

Somebody Feed Phil Season 9 is slated to premiere in 2027 on YouTube.
