ABC has renewed Abbott Elementary for Season 6. The early pickup comes in advance of show’s fifth season finale, marking ABC’s first scripted renewal of the season.

The new season is expected to push the Emmy-winning comedy past the 100-episode milestone. The series continues to perform strongly across both broadcast and streaming, ranking as the top comedy on television this season among adults 18-49 based on seven-day multiplatform viewing. It holds a 1.82 rating in the key demographic and averages more than 6 million viewers per episode after a week of cross-platform viewing on ABC as well as Hulu and Disney+.

Created by and starring Quinta Brunson, the mockumentary-style comedy follows a group of dedicated teachers working at a chronically underfunded public elementary school in Philadelphia. The ensemble cast also includes Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, Janelle James and William Stanford Davis.

Abbott Elementary Season 6 is slated to air during the upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast cycle on ABC.
