Animal Control Renewed For Season 5 On FOX

FOX has renewed Animal Control for Season 5. The pickup comes midway through the workplace comedy’s fourth season, which the network says is delivering its strongest performance to date.

Per FOX, the December premiere marked a series high and became the first broadcast comedy in more than 15 years to see a fourth-season launch outperform each of its previous three season premieres. The show’s 2023 debut also stands as the most-streamed series premiere in the network’s history, as well as its most-streamed comedy episode.

FOX issued the following statement on the decision to continue Animal Control:

“With the writing, ensemble, and audience response all landing at new levels, renewing Animal Control was an easy decision. The series launched to new highs in its fourth season, which is a direct reflection of the show’s continued creative growth, outstanding producing team, and the incredible Joel McHale as our lead.”

The single-camera half-hour is Fox’s first wholly owned live-action comedy. It stars Joel McHale as Frank, an opinionated animal control officer with a knack for understanding animals but less success navigating human relationships. His partner, Fred “Shred” Taylor, is an optimistic rookie who often clashes with him, while they report to their well-meaning boss Emily. The precinct also includes partners Amit and Victoria, whose contrasting personalities add to the workplace dynamic.

Animal Control Season 5 is scheduled to premiere during FOX’s upcoming 2026-27 season.
