Countdown Cancelled By Prime Video – No Season 2

The Jensen Ackles crime thriller is one-and-done at Prime Video.

Prime Video has cancelled Countdown after one season. The decision comes a month after the 13-episode crime drama concluded its freshman run.

Jensen Ackles, who led the series as LAPD detective Mark Meachum, informed fans of the news through a video post on Instagram:

“As some of you may have seen already, Countdown did not get picked up for another season. Amazon’s gonna let it go, and it’s a bummer. I had such an amazing time making that show. I had an absolute blast with the cast and the crew. Thank you to Derek for making the show and writing those characters. And thanks to Amazon for giving us the opportunity, especially Vernon Sanders for being such a champion for that show.”

Created by Derek Haas, the series followed Meachum as he joined a covert task force of agents from multiple law enforcement branches to investigate the murder of a Homeland Security officer. The case soon unraveled into a larger conspiracy that put millions of lives at risk.

There are no current plans to ship Countdown Season 2 to other platforms.
