The Gilded Age Season 4 Renewed By HBO

The lavish period drama will continue into a fourth season.

HBO has renewed The Gilded Age for a fourth season, with two episodes remaining in its current third season, which wraps on August 10. The period drama from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes continues to earn critical praise, with Season 3 widely regarded as the show’s strongest to date.

Set in 1880s New York, the series follows Marian Brook, a young woman navigating the social tensions between old and new money as she attempts to define her place in a rapidly changing world. With lavish production design and layered historical drama, The Gilded Age has remained a weekly draw for both fans and awards voters.

Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films:

“We couldn’t be prouder of the undeniable viewership heights The Gilded Age has achieved this season. Transporting us to 1880s New York City, Julian Fellowes and the enormously talented cast and crew have created a ‘can’t-miss it’ entertainment experience from week to week, and we’re delighted to continue exploring these characters’ grand ambitions for what we promise will be a thrilling fourth season.”

Erin Underhill, President, Universal Television:

“Thanks to Julian and the phenomenally talented cast and crew, each season of The Gilded Age delivers stories rich in drama and history, stellar performances and stunning production value. Every moment spent in this world and with these characters only deepens our love for the show, and we’re so happy that our partners at HBO and audiences around the world are clamoring for more.”

Expect The Gilded Age Season 4 to premiere in summer 2026 on HBO.
