Nemesis Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix
Netflix has renewed breakout drama Nemesis for a second season following strong global engagement with its debut run.
The early pickup signals continued confidence in the series from creators Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole, with both emphasizing that Season 2 will expand the scope of the story while addressing unresolved threads from the first season.
Kemp credited the audience response for the renewal, saying: “I feel blessed to get a season two. It’s because of them – there’s no other reason. It’s them showing up, them talking about it and their huge social media response. We are grateful to Netflix for recognizing the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.”
Marole added that the creative team is aiming to scale up the next chapter: “We’re going to make sure those questions get answered – and even more questions are available for you to answer. Season two is going to be bigger and better.”
Netflix VP of Studio Scripted Series Nne Ebong praised the series’ breakout performance, noting that Nemesis “captivated audiences and never let go,” adding that its global response was “electric and far-reaching.”
Season 1 follows two opposing forces: an expert criminal and a brilliant police detective locked in a high-stakes collision between law and instinct. What begins as a procedural crime thriller gradually expands into a deeper exploration of identity, family, and the personal forces that drive both men toward destruction.
Season 2 is expected to continue that dual-character structure while escalating both the emotional stakes and the scale of the conflict, with production details and premiere timing to be announced.
