CBS has renewed Matlock for a third season. The early pickup was announced midway through the legal drama’s second season, which is set to return with new episodes on February 26.

The renewal is one of 16 CBS shows currently renewed for the 2026-27 season.

Inspired by the classic series, the show follows Madeline Matlock, a septuagenarian attorney who reenters the legal workforce after earlier success in her career. At a prestigious law firm, she leverages her unassuming presence and strategic instincts to win cases while uncovering internal misconduct.

Matlock Season 3 is expected to premiere in fall 2026, as part of CBS’ 2026-27 broadcast cycle.
