ABC has renewed Press Your Luck for a seventh season, extending the revival of the classic game show as part of the network’s 2026 summer lineup. Hosted by Elizabeth Banks, the series returns this July following the season premiere of the also-renewed Celebrity Family Feud.

Since its reboot, Press Your Luck has quietly become one of ABC’s more dependable unscripted performers, successfully modernizing the original format while preserving its nostalgic appeal. The combination of high-stakes gameplay, larger prize pools, and the return of the iconic “Whammy” has helped the show maintain a loyal audience across multiple seasons.

The format remains straightforward but effective: contestants answer trivia questions to earn spins on the Big Board, where they can win significant cash prizes – or lose everything if they land on the dreaded Whammy. The tension between risk and reward has continued to make the show one of the more suspense-driven entries in the modern game show landscape.

Banks has also played a major role in the reboot’s success, bringing an energetic and comedic tone that distinguishes the series from more traditional quiz formats. Her involvement both in front of and behind the camera as executive producer has helped shape the revival into a polished primetime franchise.

The renewal highlights the continuing strength of classic game show revivals on network television. As audiences increasingly gravitate toward comfort viewing and familiar formats, broadcasters have leaned heavily into recognizable titles with built-in nostalgia. Press Your Luck has benefited from that strategy while still managing to feel contemporary enough for modern audiences.

Press Your Luck Season 7 premieres Thursday, July 9 at 9:01 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
