FOX has renewed Memory of a Killer for a second season, confirming the thriller’s strong performance ahead of its freshman finale airing tonight.

The renewal follows an impressive debut for the series, which has reached 16.2 million viewers across platforms and encore broadcasts. Its premiere also stands as the highest-rated broadcast drama telecast of the season, while becoming FOX’s most-streamed series to date – a combination of metrics that highlights its broad appeal across both traditional and digital audiences.

Strong cross-platform performance has become an increasingly important factor in renewal decisions, particularly for broadcast networks like FOX. With viewing habits shifting toward streaming and on-demand platforms, shows that can perform well beyond their initial airing are far more likely to secure early pickups and long-term investment.

“Memory of a Killer has become a true standout with visceral performances from Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli,” said Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network. “Aaron Zelman, Glenn Kessler, and our partners at Warner Bros. Television have delivered a sharp, emotional character-driven thriller that’s clearly landed with viewers, and we’re excited to continue that success together in Season Two.”

Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, echoed that sentiment, describing the renewal as “richly deserved” given the show’s strong critical and commercial reception, while praising the cast and creative team for delivering a compelling and emotionally driven series.

Inspired by the Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer, the series stars Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli. It follows Angelo, a man living a double life as both a New York City hitman and a small-town family man, while secretly battling memory loss that threatens to unravel both identities.

The show’s unique premise, combined with its character-driven storytelling, has helped it stand out within the crowded thriller genre, where networks continue to prioritise high-concept dramas with strong lead performances.

Memory of a Killer Season 2 will air during the upcoming 2026-2027 season on Fox.
