CBS has renewed NCIS for a 24th season, extending the long-running naval procedural beyond its current run. The pickup was announced midway through Season 23.

First premiering in 2003, NCIS remains the longest-running drama currently airing on CBS. The series has also spawned multiple offshoots, including NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney, both of which were renewed alongside the flagship series.

The NCIS renewals are among 16 CBS shows renewed so far for the 2026-27 season.

Originally introduced through a two-part episode of JAG Season 8, NCIS follows the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the U.S. Navy, as its team investigates major crimes while navigating high-pressure cases and evolving personal dynamics.

NCIS Season 24 is set to premiere as part of the 2026-27 broadcast season on CBS, likely returning in the fall.
