Twisted Metal Renewed For Season 3 On Peacock

Peacock is bringing the video game-based series back for a third run.

Peacock has renewed Twisted Metal for a third season, confirming the series will continue less than three months after wrapping its 12-episode sophomore run.

The action-comedy posted an uptick in critical response during Season 2, helping solidify its position as an ongoing franchise for the streamer.

Season 3 will see a leadership change behind the scenes. Co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith is stepping down as showrunner, with executive producer David Reed taking over under his overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.

Based on the long-running PlayStation video game series, Twisted Metal follows motor-mouthed courier John Doe, who is offered a shot at a better life if he can transport a mysterious package across a fractured, post-apocalyptic America. Joined by car thief Quiet, he navigates hostile territory, weaponized vehicles, and unpredictable adversaries, including the franchise’s signature threat, a deranged clown at the wheel of a deadly ice-cream truck.

Expect Twisted Metal Season 3 to premiere in late 2026 on Peacock.
