X-Men ’97 Renewed For Season 3 On Disney+

The animated revival scores an early renewal ahead of its delayed second season.

Marvel Studios announced at New York Comic Con that X-Men ’97 has been renewed for a third season. The renewal arrives well ahead of schedule, as the series’ second season is still in production and not expected to debut until summer 2026.

The animated show, which premiered in early 2024, continues the storylines of X-Men: The Animated Series from the 1990s, picking up after the presumed death of Professor X. The mutant team faces new threats and shifting alliances while continuing their fight to protect a world that fears their existence.

The revival has been praised for capturing the tone and style of the original series while updating its storytelling for a modern audience. Its strong reception and early renewal signal continued confidence in the franchise’s long-term future at Disney+.

Season 3 of X-Men ’97 will stream on Disney+, with an expected 2027 release window.
