Apple TV+, in co-production with ZDF, has renewed the German-language medical drama Berlin ER (KRANK Berlin) for an eight-episode second season.

The series is the winner of the German Television Award for Best Drama Series.

Season 1 followed Dr. Parker (Haley Louise Jones) as she sought a fresh start in Berlin’s most overcrowded hospital, pushing for reforms amid understaffed, overworked conditions and a health system under strain. The team’s black humor and hard-won unity anchored the cases and conflicts on the floor.

The series stars Haley Louise Jones and Slavko Popadić, joined by Şafak Şengül, Samirah Breuer, Bernhard Schütz, Peter Lohmeyer and Benjamin Radjaipour.

Expect Berlin ER Season 2 to release in mid-to-late 2026 on Apple TV+.
