Netflix has renewed Wednesday for a third season, ahead of the show’s Season 2 premiere, which is set to unfold in two parts on August 6 and September 3, 2025.

The Addams Family-inspired coming-of-age series will continue its run at Nevermore Academy as new mysteries — and deeper family secrets — unfold.

Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed in part by Tim Burton, Wednesday has become Netflix’s most-watched English-language TV series to date.

The first season, which premiered on November 23, 2022, drew 252.1 million views in just 91 days and crossed 1 billion hours viewed within three weeks — a platform record.

Season 1 also held the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for six consecutive weeks and reached the top position in 90 countries. According to Netflix, anticipation for Season 2 has already generated over 2.8 billion social impressions.

Creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, said:

“It’s been a dark delight to watch Wednesday cast her spell over audiences across the globe – one deadpan quip at a time. We’re beyond thrilled she’ll be returning to stalk the halls of Nevermore in Season 3. This time, she’ll unearth more of the school’s sinister secrets – and descend even deeper into the Addams family crypt. Or, as Wednesday would say: ‘Nothing brings a family together like a good exhumation.’”

Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria added:

“The undeniable impact of Wednesday resonated immediately with fans worldwide, driving it to the top of our charts… We are so proud of Al Gough, Miles Millar, Tim Burton, Jenna Ortega, and the entire Wednesday cast and crew for everything they’ve accomplished. On the heels of its highly anticipated season two return, we are thrilled to renew the iconic series for a third and to deliver more of what the fans love.”

Expect Wednesday Season 3 to release in mid-to-late 2026 on Netflix.
