The Traitors has been renewed for three additional seasons at Peacock, extending the reality competition into 2030, if the show’s current yearly release cycle maintains.

The pickup comes on the heels of a record-breaking night at the Primetime Emmys, where the series won seven awards, the most ever earned by a competition series in a single year.

The renewal covers Seasons 6 through 8, arriving ahead of the fifth season which is set to return in 2027.

Alan Cumming will continue as host across the new episodes.

The series pits a group of celebrities, competitors and other notable figures against one another inside a murder mystery format staged at a castle in the Scottish Highlands. Players are split into Faithfuls and Traitors, with the Traitors secretly eliminating Faithfuls each round while the larger group tries to identify and banish them before the prize fund is lost. It’s a format built on paranoia and social deduction as much as physical competition, and one that has become one of Peacock’s signature originals since its debut.

Season 4 season closed out as the platform’s highest-rated to date, with viewership climbing 72% over the prior season. Since its January 8 premiere, it has drawn 8.1 billion minutes viewed, making it the second-most-watched streaming original reality series of 2026 so far by that measure, trailing only Peacock’s Love Island: USA.

The renewal also lands alongside an expansion of the format. Before the next season of the flagship series airs, NBC will premiere The Traitors: New Blood on September 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with episodes streaming the following day on Peacock.

The Traitors Season 5 is slated to premiere in early 2027 on Peacock.
