The Voice has been renewed for a 31st season by NBC, with the long-running singing competition set to return in 2027 as a special celebrity edition.

Production is now underway on The Voice: Celebrity, which will feature celebrities competing instead of undiscovered singers for the first time in the franchise’s history.

The event season introduces several major changes to the format. Keke Palmer will make her debut as host, replacing Carson Daly in front of the camera for the special edition, while Daly remains on board as a producer. Joe Jonas joins the series as a first-time coach alongside returning coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green.

The celebrity contestants, who will include actors, musicians, athletes, comedians, influencers, and reality television personalities, will be announced at a later date.

Alongside the new cast, NBC is introducing several format additions for the special season, including Voice Boot Camp, which follows contestants as they prepare for the Blind Auditions, the VIP Room, where celebrities watch the competition unfold together, and the Workroom, offering a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals and strategy before the Battles.

The renewal comes as The Voice prepares to celebrate its milestone 30th season this fall. That season will feature Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green as coaches, with Carson Daly returning as host.

Season 30 of The Voice premieres this September 21, 2026 on NBC, with Season 31 slated to premiere in 2027.
